My applications ( I-140; I-485; I-765) were mailed on July 27th to NSC and they had acknowledged received on JULY-30th as per the mail delivery confirmation.
Today I recieved a note from my lawyer that the receipt notice has been issued for all of my applications.
Phew that was a relief as I was about to leave to India soon and was worried about travelling without the receipt number.

Call USCIS and enquire about your card and also verify if your address in their system is correct. Also, get an appt with local USCIS office. All the best!!!
Called USCIS couple of times but I did not get the right response till now. They used to end the call abruptly.
But just now I called again, she told that they need to upload the Biometrics from CSC and she will do that. She told that I will get the card in 30 days...may be the regular time which they mention.
And she told not to take any Infopass appoitment and just to wait for 30 days.

I am bringing these out not because I am opposed to equal treatment of folks on H1/ EAD etc - but because there are legitimate arguments both ways and unless we can prove unequivocally that there is gross miscarriage of justice in denying us this right and on the other hand - there is no disadvantage caused to anybody else by granting us this right - this idea is unlikely to see the light of the day
while i am happy to be proven wrong - i do not see anyone in this forum having a stomach for a protracted legal battle starting with lower courts and going all the way to Supreme Court - going back to my previous point - we do not see this as a "larger than me" cause
Incorrect words used by me, I did not mean that supreme court gave authority, but that supreme court did not find that discrimination based on country of origin for immigrants violates the basic tenents of this countries constitution.
I am not saying that this is a case on employers. If at all it would be a case against the discriminatory laws of the congress which allow someone to stay indefinitely but, do not allow them to work.
If a case like this is filed, I do not think, I do not see it going to be a proteacted battle. If enough coverage is given, the lawmakers might sit down and fix the problem or atleast have a quick temporary fix. Maybe even lawmakers might not be needed, just the DOJ would might update the rules (which it is allowed in case it determines that the laws are conflicting). Most important of all, this will bring the issues on the front from being a laggard.

Hi guys,
My first H1B (2003) had LUD on 14th of July...and today there is a LUD on I-140. My I-140 approved in March 2007..PD is March 2005...Is it good indication that they are doing something with my I-485 case? My application reached NSC on july 2nd (not sure about time as my lawyer sent those papers). My I-140 is from TSC.
Today i added my old H1B (2003) case to my portfolio..i saw LUD on it...LUD date is '14th july 2007'...not sure...14th july is saturday...but no surprise...i saw lot of people posted that their LUD was on weekends....Is it good indication? sorry if i am asking unnecessary question..

Honestly, I don't see why NumbersUSA would use our information to develop a counter attack. What we want is straightforward and should be straightforward. Everyone knows who are the senators who listen to our lobbysts. Don't worry with that. Trying to fight against the desire of the American people and sneak in provisions on our behalf is not working. If NumbersUSA is comprised of 200,000+ very active members, chances are they will demolish us every time if we try to go against their desire. This is not like passing the 80's amnesty anymore. The Internet out there has proven to be a very powerful democratic tool on this. If you add provisions there such as temporary increase in visa numbers (enough to take the GC applicants veterans out of this mess) and similar modest proposals which do not increase the number of greencard significantly and coordinate with NumbersUSA, then we may succeed. Believe me I called IV members when this organization was created to explain this, but no one gets it. Persuading certain lawmakers to come up with the proposals on our behalf is the easy part. AILA has been doing this for a long time anyway. As long as you have the money and connections to do so. I am not taking the IV merit away. I do give them credit for organizing the structure and collecting the resources. However, this is not about credits or discredits. Think about it and figure out who actually blocked S.2611/1934 last year. Hint:It was not lawmakers. Note that we should try to come up with provisions enough to minimize the greencard waiting times, not making the priority current for everyone, although that would be obviously ideal.
It is a reality that you don't like to hear:The American people, in a way represented by NumbersUSA, are the bosses on this. Trying to fight against is really hard. You need to gain their sympathy instead.

The applications recrived at TEXAS on 1st JUN started receiving recepit notices. One of my friends checks got cleared today. :confused: As per my analysys nebraska had a 6 day lag till Jan 1st. Lets see.

Everybody has been waiting for his/her green card and congratulations to all those who has got their GC. On the other hand it is really unfair and to some extent unethical on the part of USICS not follow a fair system.
There are several people in 2004, 2005 who have been paitently waiting for their turn only to see that people behind them getting approved.
You are talking about 2004, 05. What about 2001, 2002 and 2003? There are so many people with 2002 priority dates still waiting just like me. Mine is 02/2002

The list can easily grow up. These are so much complicated that several civil rights activist put together can not get them fixed.
