Once you take the infopass appointment, you can go to your local office (indicated on the appointment) and wait in the line/queue and ask your questions them when they call your number.

I think in 2000 some of the unused visa's are recaptured and allocated.
That would be the reason the numbers are not looking exact in each year

DHS will be rescinding its July 2 update and the initial July Visa Bulletin will take effect for 31 days � i.e., all employment-based green card categories (except for the �Other Workers� category) will be �current� and CIS will accept applications through August 17.
DHS will issue a press release to this effect later today.

You cant just divide 500000 by 3. The numbers are not same for all categories.
Eb1-3 all are granted 28% and I am assuming there as equal number of applications in each category though it would not be the case in reality but I was just giving a crude math example.This 500000 load was from EB1/2/3 only.In reality it is more scary for EB2/3 India particular last july filing as most filings should have been from EB2/3- China and India considering the H1 arrivals from these 2 countries during the year 2003-7. And yet in that example I did not mirror USCIS's limits such as 7%, load from previous filing which is not yet clear. Bottom line EB2 with 2004 PD will have to see a long road before becoming current.

Hi,
Even i reviewed the list of NOC on their site but I don't see any chages. But i could see one thing on that pdf list is the date still says February 5, 2009. So it;s not updated as per April 15,2009 if they revised the list.
So need to find out wether they revised the list of NOC or not..
any one knows???

I am in a similar situation...filed for AP in June...mine got approved...wife's AP has not gotten approved yet....planning to travel in early December.
I tried expediting for financial loss and got email saying that is not enough reason....
I am thinking of refiling my wife's I131 and paying the extra $300...now. What do you guys think...is there a chance of approval before end of November or is it a lost cause...

My case was transferred to local office of Los Angeles, CA. I received a note saying on Dec 7th it was transferred to expedite the processing and they (LA office) will let me know when decision is made.
Current processing date for I-485 is August 19th. Does that mean that when they reach Dec 7th they will process my case regardless of my PD(which is June 05)?

Please don't give incorrect answers.
All three corporation types (C-Corp, S-Corp, and LLC) have limited liability to its shareholders.
The main difference in these corp types are
1. How much record keeping is done
2. The way taxes are computed and filed with IRS
3. The kind of expenses allowed to deduct
4. C-Corp and LLC can carryover profits to next year(s), but S-Corp has to pass on profit (or loss) to the shareholders at the end of every calendar year.
For S-Corp, the shareholders must be Permanent Resident or US Citizen.
I have corporation of my own and this is C-Corp (due to kind of expenses I can deduct and/or write-off). I did all the incorporation work myself without any help from CPA. Incorporation is pretty straight forward and very easy. There are good books in Nolo Press on Corporate Incorporation.

I heard that if you register a LLC in California every year you have to around $800 tax fee, weather you do a business or not, is it true?

By day trading I mean not just investing in stocks and not just buying and selling stocks in a single day -- I am asking about making perhaps 10 trades in a day (5 rounds of buy, sell)? I understand IRS can call you out to be a full-time trader but the rules for this are not laid out clearly, as far as I can understand. Anyone out there with relevant links/personal experience on this one? Would really appreciate your feedback.

As per the rule: Once you start working in a full time capacity for another company (other than your current H1B employer) will mean that your H1B is no more active. Something happens to your I-140 and then you are screwed (Remember that you cannot get back to H1B status after you started using EAD with a company other than your current H1B employer). So, be careful before you use your EAD until your I-140 is approved and 6 months of I-485 filing (I assume you completed the 180 day rule).

I love the color saturation on the first one. Very well done. My one complaint ( a small one) is that bright object in the grass a little above and to the right of the watermark. I don't know if it's a rock or a stump or what but I'd suggest cloning that out.

A. Since the law is unclear, to be on the safe side, you can have the new company file H1 extension in premium processing and resign/leave the current employer only after extension is approved
B. Yes, new company can start a new PERM and port your earlier PD during I-140 process
C. PD can be ported even if old employer revokes I-140, provided the revocation was not due to fraud.
Also, I am sure all IV members would really appreciate if you could tell us the name of this company which is offering a life long stability..:-)

I had to reclaim all the days that I was outside the country for my 7th year H1 Extension. I submitted photocopies of all the stampings on my passport. Please note that the passport will be stamped upon arrival here and upon departure/arrival in India. That should be sufficient evidence for proof your valid stay here.

It is my turn to receive the "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident" today. My depenedents are yet to receive this mail. This forum, Immigration-law, Immigration portal by Rajiv Khanna and many other immigration lawyers' websites like Murthy's etc were very useful to understand the immigration laws.
I did everything myself (EB2-NIW - India) - I140, I485, AP and EAD and my PD (I140 RD) and I485 RD are 09-29-2005.
I did make a one time conribution of $100.00 to IV.

In 2008 My wife applied for H1B and My wife got her H1B approved and along with the approval she got new I-94
valid till Sep 2011.
But she was not able to start working/ find a job due to family reasons and economy conditions.
1. Whether she Out of status since she did not work on her H1?
2. If she starts working now for the employer can she get back the status?
3. What are the ways for her get back to H4 if she not going work?
