My understanding was that automatic revalidation was stopped a few years ago?
I would say that getting an appointment and a new visa stamp is the safest bet. If that's not a possibility and you have to go, I will suggest travel by road instead of air. From what I have heard they tend to be more lenient when you are driving across.
Do check thoroughly before travelling on an expired visa.

I just spoke with customer service representative, She said 2 A #s are not at all problem and she said one more thing to make sure that I485 A # should appear in GC when it will approve.

Because there is little certainity about the Green card many people hesitating to buy houses. There is good chance that the housing market will definitly improve if the Green card waiting period decreases.
you are kidding, right? According to the latest figures the number of houses in the market is about 3.5 millions, which amount to 7 months of housing supply. Even if tomorrow DOL will process all its backlog of 180K applications and INS issue pending however-many-GC applications pending (I believe I heard a # of 500K including those 180K they are expecting to get from the DOL) it won't affect the housing market a bit.

Isn't it amazing, thousands of people are waiting with bated breath for the USCIS update news and some idiot opens a new threads to start a baseless rumor. And claims that news comes from Greg. This so called news as it turns out is a comment by some troll "south" on Greg's website.
Our friend here who opened this thread fails to even see the connection between the id handle "south" and his post" going south." Honestly, things like this make you wonder, how can such people call themselves highly skilled.

This is going to be an issue for lot of folks who all filed for I-485 in the last year July fiasco. We will be forced renew every time. Only by giving 2 years is just a temporary postponement but not solving the real problem.
It is like Drivers Lincense renewal. If you have your documentation and you have been driving legally should be granted renewal instantly. Why can't they do the same thing with EAD?

For all those who are having nightmares about G325A and sending GA325 or for completeness need not worry if visa was issued more than a year back based on this.... I found this from the link provided earlier in this thread(pdf) by ushkand

I think that applies to telephone conversations only though I may be wrong. Doesn't hurt to record conversation though - the most that will happen is that the lawyer will say that it is not admissible in a court of law.

You are acting as if you made a mistake by contributing to IV because other people are not contributing and that is frustrating to you. The general feeling is that I140 withdrawal is not necessary for the employer (but H1b is). But employers used to do this for labor substitution - now there is no such incentive. But still some lawyers suggest employers to do this - in my old company which is a large well known software company (with 10k+ employees worldwide) the HR group follows immigration attorneys almost blindly. All immigration issues are handled by a big law firm - many of regular immigration matters are done by paralegals who does not know much (I am not exaggerating when I say I know more than them) - but our HR has a policy that they would follow what those attorney/paralegal is saying. It seems the law firm is suggesting them to withdraw all applications including approved i140 - obviously the law firm would charge them for this so that is their interest.
And law firm is right, they protect their clients. Search this forum for I-140 revocation by USCIS. I-140 was approved and then revoked by USCIS itself. In that case AC21 does not help, 485 will be denied.

Would the 20D or D1MkII have greater tolerances i.e. wider range algorithms in the camera?
Not noticeably... I'd almost say that there would be no difference at all between the 350D and 20D, but don't own both (let alone either) so I can't say for sure. One of my close friend and her husband both had Greencard. She delivered baby in India in 2002. They were not able to get their son to US. They tried visitors visa for the baby but the consulate rejected the visa. The baby is still in India with his grandparents. They filed for his greencard (family based). They are counting days to get their son to US. He is already 6 years old. It is very tough for the parents and kid. I am not sure about the other options that people has mentioned. But I see my friend family directly who are facing this problem. I don't think it is a good idea.

1. Technically there is no Salary restriction. As stated above it is a grey area. But, if the job duties are the same and the salary difference is too big (no one knows how much is acceptable without raising questions), then it brings into question if you are still performing the same duties. But basically, you have to make equal to or more than the LC.
2. I have used AC21 before. Have not done EAD renewal yet.
Have a question about point1. Most of larger corp employees who have been in the wait cycle 6-8 years, entered in this coprs at rather lower salaries compared to current day standards. Once inside, pending GC process, you do not get too much of raise or adjustments (2-5% - more of inflation adjustments every 1.5-2 years or so).
Going out of these positions, within similar technical positions, even at lower - rather conservative end of the current pay scale (on AC21-EAD) it is very easy to reach bracket closer to 40-50% higher. Converting to full time consultants, even in tighter market due to current economy; would actually mean closer to 60-70% difference. How do we handle this? Staying within large corp on FT basis does not make sense financially after all these years. Espcially when EB3 category PD doesn't show any sign of life.

The first shot....I'm not too sure about that one. Technically, it looks fine but it's not holding my attention.
One thing I've noticed about studio product shots is that the most difficult part is finding the props to support the atmoshere of the photo...and then arranging them in a pleasant fashion. I've still got a lot to learn in that department.
